The 1891 Application to the Physical Department of the Young Men's Christian Association Training School, now Springfield College, of George Lewis Gabler. This is the second application that Gabler filled out to attend Springfield College. Whether he was accepted the first time or not and then was unable to attend for some reason is not known, but he was accepted this time and graduated from Springfield College in 1894. The application provides background on his life as well as outlining his desires for the future.

Gabler was a classmate of William Morgan, the inventor of Volleyball, and a student of Dr. James Naismith, the inventor of Basketball. After graduation he was the Physical Director of the Holyoke Massachusetts YMCA, the year before Morgan arrived and invented Volleyball. Later he became a doctor, living and practicing medicine in Holyoke for the rest of his life.
