- Springfield College 1941 Gym Team Film
A silent 16mm film of the 1941 Springfield College Gymnastics Team. The film shows a number of different gymnastics exercises, including a number of different Tableaux performances; including the famous Aspiration and Co-operation, as well as the Plungers and Track & Field. The Machine Age, Indian Clubs and Sabre Drill (all done in bronze) have coordinated movements. These look like practice sessions and show each tableaux from a number of perspectives as well as some mistakes. Also on the film are the gymnasts creating pyramids. These are in color. Finally there are some filmed gymnastics performances. Listed on the packing list it does give the names of some of the gymnasts. The packing list lists Bill Rappaport as the captain (which he was for 1941) and the Sextette Balance Team listing Freedman-Burk-F(rest of name unclear)-Parsons-Pennington-Rappaport. It is unclear whether these gentlemen actually appear in the performances.
