<mods:abstract>This is the Finding Aid is for the Springfield College Gymnastics Team Records collection. This collectio contains materials and information on the Springfield College Baseball teams (varsity, junior varsity and freshman) from their first season in 1891 through the present day. The bulk of the materials begins in the mid-1950s and continues through 2010. Materials include photographs of teams, players and games; scorecards and scorebooks from individual games; compiled statistics, individual player and team; news clippings of individual games and season news; memorabilia, including commemorative baseballs, uniforms and trophies; some film, mostly 16mm from the 1960s of practice and games; programs from individual games, on teams, and from collegiate championships and events; and correspondence, memos, and press releases created by the college and collegiate sport divisions (Northeast 8, ECAC). Other materials include documents outlining the history of the team, such as the manuscript “The story of Baseball at Springfield College, 1891-1972,” materials from alumni games, internal and external correspondence, and materials collected from Northeastern Collegiate Baseball All-star games.</mods:abstract>
