Edward Hitchcock letter to Benjamin Silliman, Jr., 1847 April 5
Description:
A letter to Benjamin Silliman, Jr. in which Edward Hitchcock discusses a representation of a footprint that will appear in the American Journal of Science. Hitchcock would prefer no mention of the track to a mention accompanied by a reduced image, but since the Journal cannot afford the full images Hitchcock concedes to have the reduced version printed. Hitchcock also briefly describes his trip to Virginia.
