From the collection of George W. Ferguson, Centerville, MA. 02632, who kindly lent this lovely purple velvet album of Carrie Knowles to the Provincetown History Project for inclusion in its archive. The Knowles family, while no longer prominent in Provincetown as of 2010, had its name on Knowles Wharf and Knowles Crossing at the intersection of Standish St. and Commercial St. where the railroad crossed on its way out to the wharf. Included in this album are photos of Carrie Knowles Cook from her birth to her marriage and birth of her first daughter in Provincetown.
