This envelope contains two separate letters from Adeline to her mother, Louisa Gass. In the first letter, Adeline forwards her mother her new address and notes that she and her husband Jack already had to invest in a new heater. She voices frustration at the fact that some people thinks she should have married Billy instead of Jack, since Billy is more financially stable. She talks about her canary who has been enjoying the new flat, as he can watch the traffic from the window. In the second letter, Adeline asks her mother to forward Sadie's address and to have Sadie write to her. She goes on to talk about her wardrobe and the new clothes she will have to purchase. Adeline talks a little about being pregnant, but focuses on her clothing situation and the expense of maternity clothes. Adeline also inquires about the coal shortage situation.
