Belcourt Theatre tribute. Three movie theaters in Nashville back in the day: the Tennessee Theater on Church Street in Downtown Nashville was the grand movie palace, but it has shut down in the late 1970's. There was also the Belle Meade Theater on Harding Road, which was later turned into a bookstore called Book Star. Lastly, the Belcourt Theatre was a neighborhood movie house tucked into a side street with a small lobby and cramped restrooms, but camaraderie among its patrons. The closest thing to an art theatre that Nashville had.
