'In 1967 Rocco DePasquale cooked for a few residents at his restaurant and after serving them their meal he was surprised to becomed awarded 'Good Guy' of the year for his contributions to the community. This has since become an annual event for Wilmington. Residents are asked to write or email the Good Guy Committee and tell them about this most deserving person! The committee looks for a special person in our community to honor--male or female--who goes beyond the normal call of duty to make our community a better place in which to live. A person's work performed as an elected official or through a paid employment position is not eligible for this award. Hopefully, the recipient is surprised when arriving for a dinner and roast honoring them by relatives, friends, neighbors, and colleagues, as well as citations presented from our State Senator and House of Representatives.
