The Native American Indian who wouldn't be muzzled
Description:
'Frank James was a friend and a music teacher at Nauset High School in Eastham. He was invited to speak for the Indians at the Thanksgiving Celebration at Plimouth Plantation in 1970 by Governor Sargent. Frank was a Wampanoag Indian. The Secretary of State of Massachusetts didn't want him to give his speech because he commented that it was a day of sorrow rather then a day of celebration for the Indians. Malcolm Hobbs (senior Editor of the Cape Codder Newspaper) knew Frank and published his speech in the newspaper. He got permission from Frank to copy the speech and give it to all of the invited guests of the state who had attended the Thanksgiving celebration.'
