'This is an end-of-summer bean supper in the Weir Cliff neighborhood. My grandmother and her 1st 2 children are at the far right, in the back row. My grandmother ultimately supported 5 children on her own, since my grandfather was an alcoholic (he was not present at this bean supper). My father grew up in this neighborhood, as did I.
