'One of many outings to Boston Harbor Islands for research and recreation in the 1970s and 1980s from our 'Harbor Campus.' It was new and exciting experience to be on Boston Harbor when it had not yet been widely discovered as a precious environmental asset, but Umass Boston already knew and we engaged in many visits, studies and trips to the Harbor Islands. We addressed environmental issues from the onset of our time here on Columbia Point and in a serious way. Pictured, from left to right: in light blue jacket John Bishop, in red cap Frederick Gamst, and in pink sweater Naomi Bishop. Location: on way to Boston Harbor's Thompson Island.'
