'This photo was taken at the foot of one of the grand marble staircases in the magnificent State House on Beacon Hill. The occasion is Massachusetts Library Association Legislative Day when we librarians visit our legislators and lobby for aid to public libraries. My mother surprised me by showing up, came by subway. She died in 1994. I served as president of the Mass. Library Association. Wish I recalled the speeches we made I believe many dreams were relayed, i.e. library building programs, new services, access for disabled. Pictured, from left to right: Jack Wilson, Rep. Lucille Hicks, myself Louise Brown, and my mother Miriam Blesofsky. Location: Massachusetts State House.'
