'My sister, Kathleen, and I are taking a picture with our grandmother. My grandmother lived in Dartmouth on a farm with goats. My grandmother was from Sao Nicolau, Cape Verde. I remember drinking goat's milk right from the goat. The goat's milk was still warm. My sister and I were dressed alike because we were ten months apart. My grandparents also grew strawberries and potatoes. My mother had a strawberry stand and sold strawberries every summer. Pictured, from left to right: my grandmother Mecaela R. Lopes, myself Mary Ann Lopes (five years old), and my sister Kathleen Lopes (five years old).'
