'When WWII ended, my parents were married. They stayed in touch all through the war, Dad carried Mom's photo (which I have) and he sent her postcards, newspaper clippings, photos (and of course letters) to put in the scrapbook mom kept (which I have, it's a treasure). This photo was their wedding day at the Hanson Baptist Church, July 28, 1946. This photo is important to me because after serving their country in the Seabees and Waves, they got to live 'the American Dream.' It was a new day after the war. They were able to have their own home and start a family. They fought for the freedoms we enjoy today. They are part of the fabric of the Greatest Generation. They live forever in the stories we hold dear. I see them in the faces of my loved ones and hear their laughter in their voices. I forever hold dear this legacy they left us.
