'This photo represents the many times I gave tours of the Boston Light while working as both a Friends of the Boston Harbor Islands volunteer and as a National Park Ranger. It also brings back a very special memory of the one night in 2003 when we NPS Rangers were allowed to camp out on Little Brewster Island. We climbed the 76 stairs and two ladders to the top of the Boston Light and into the lens tower, then out into the upper ledger, which encircled the tower, where we sat and sang musical show-tunes all evening. Here, in the photo, you can see the side of the 9-foot Fresnel lens, which consists of 336 individual prisms. Visitors to the light can stand on the platform that surrounds the light and glorify in the same 360-degree spectacular views of the outer Boston Harbor that we enjoyed that night.'
