My father, Raymond S. Dolber, marching in a post-war parade
Description:
'This photo is a reminder of my father's patriotic duty in Civil Defense during WWII. He is marching in a post-war parade. Each night during the blackouts he would supervise the drawing of curtains in our house, and then go out into the black night to ensure that all houses on his beat complied. He was also in the Auxiliary Police. An excellent marksman (target shooting), he instructed the Waltham Police in revolver and rifle practice. Pictured: Raymond S. Dolber, forefront right, in khaki uniform.'
