'There were seven Gordon brothers and they all served in WWII. These are the brothers before the war, in so-called 'happier times' during the Depression. John Gordon, who was killed in action in Saipan, is the back row, left. There were 10 children in the Gordon family, including 2 girls, May and Eleanor, and a boy, Warren, who died in childhood. Pictured, from back to front, left to right: John B. Gordon (born 1918), Alvin Bittrich (brother-in-law, married to May Gordon, born 1904), Walter Gordon (born 1906), Francis Gordon (born 1902), William Gordon (or Bill, front row kneeling, born 1919), Edward Gordon (born 1913), and baby of family, Paul Gordon (born 1921). Location: 53 Calvary Street, Gordon childhood home.'
