Learning about Yankee whaling at the Kendall Whaling Museum
Description:
'Kendall Whaling Museum volunteer docent David Nelson explains how whales were hunted in the 19th and early 20th centuries, using the whaleboat from the New Bedford-based schooner John R. Manta, in the museum's Boat Room. Many student groups visited the museum, which closed at the end of 2001 and donated its extensive international whaling collection to the New Bedford Whaling Museum.
