'I have been a member of the Charles River Wheelers (formerly Charles River Wheelmen) since 1979 and have a photo of myself wearing this shirt from 1985 -- that establishes the date range when I bought this shirt, or received it as a gift for leading a ride. I do not know who designed the shirt. The stylized image of three bicyclists, with circles for heads as on traffic warning signs, is probably the first version. As of 2018, the club still uses a very similar image, only the leading bicyclist has grown a ponytail, reflecting that the club has always welcomed women, despite its name. Unlike with many logos, the newer image is more detailed and realistic rather then more stylized than the earlier one. More info about this shirt and the image can probably be retrieved from the archive of the Club's Wheelpeople bulletin in the library.'
