'This is a photo my father sent back to his wife and children back in Portugal shortly after arriving in the U.S. He is aboard the 'Connie-F.', a wooden boat owned by his brother Joseph Cardoza, accompanied by the husband of his youngest sister, Gloria. The owner of the boat, sponsored all but one of his siblings into the country and all men worked on the Connie F. for different periods of time even when none of them had been fishermen in Portugal. Pictured, from left to right: Manuel Cardoso de Sá and Armando Cristo Cardoso. Location: Pier 3.'
