Arthur L. Taylor, class of 1954, writes Eleanor McGinnis to share his story about his days as a student at New Salem Academy. He also reflects on what his life was like after graduating from the academy, when he received his Doctor of Divinity degree from Bates College, preached in several churches, worked for P. T. L. television network, worked as a fork lift operator, and retired to a small farm in South Carolina. He notes that Mr. Ciechon was the greatest influence in his years at school and beyond. Other people included in Taylor's memories are Mr. Stowell, Richard Mealand, Freeman Alger, Lois Miller, Sonny Schiappa, and Carlyle Field.
