Describes packing and traveling in the rain, attending a Jewish service, and the soft food they eat that he thinks is bad for his gums. Describes convoys they move in, with townspeople following and expressing their gratitute with gifts of food, and reminds Edith that he is not alowed to write to her about certain matters. Letter shows Carl was interrupted several times while writing.
