Leslie Mann graduated from the International YMCA College, now Springfield College, in 1925. He planned to graduate with the class of 1914, however he took classes part time for several years so that he could play professional baseball. At Springfield, he was the first freshman to make the varsity football team and was nominated for All-American honors, playing as a halfback on the field. Les Mann was the varsity baseball and basketball coach at Springfield in the mid-twenties. He later formed the first baseball school in the nation, and directed the first U.S. All-American baseball team in 1935. He was inducted into the Springfield College Athletic Hall of Fame on November 4, 1972.Channing Mann graduated from the International YMCA College in 1916, where he specialized in physical education. He was a member of the varsity baseball, basketball, and soccer teams. He coached athletics for the Springfield schools, and he organized and supervised the first systems of Physical Training in the public schools of Bennington, Vermont.
