The team finished the 1970 season with a record of 10 wins and 4 losses in Hay's second season as head coach. He went on to coach for 4 more seasons before ending his coaching career at Springfield College in 1974. He finished his career at the college with an overall record of 54 wins and 21 losses, a winning percentage of .720.
