The fight here was very sanguinary but of short duration as the rebels issued from the woods below in overwhelming force and turned the left flank, which was but a temporary advantage to them. The regiment in the foreground is Baxter's Fire Zouaves which occupied extreme left of Sedgwick's division. Battle of Antietam. Sept. 17, 1862."</mods:note>
