Turned wood box with round lid containing set of 48 jackstraws. Inside of lid has penciled writing: "Mary W. Fuller / Newton / Mass." Jackstraws are fragile, lightweight wood (pine?) pieces, 3 1/2" long, cut individually to resemble variously rakes, spears, hoes, a ladder, a strung bow, etc. Each has a penciled number (for points?). Exhibit label reads, "A popular parlor game similar to pick-up sticks." Outside of cylindrical box is decorated with a pattern of incised lines. Box has two sets of decorative ends and a curved moulding near bottom. Item was on display in basement until 2025.
