  <mods:abstract>The program from the International YMCA Training School's, now Springfield College, Jubilee Day which celebrated the fiftieth anniversary of the YMCA. The Jubilee Celebration took place on June 6, 1894 and included singing, readings and a playing of the letter written by YMCA founder, Sir George Williams, to the class of 1894 and recorded on a wax cylinder.</mods:abstract>
  <mods:note>Sir George Williams founded the YMCA in London in 1844 and the movement quickly spread to Ireland and Scotland, and in 1851 to North America. By the time George Williams was knighted by Queen Victoria in 1894, the 50th anniversary of the YMCA, there were 5, 000 YMCAs in 24 countries with 500, 000 members.</mods:note>
