A sepia-toned photograph, about 5.5" x 4", pasted onto cardboard, showing a wood frame building with four six-over-six windows and two-story center entrance in the gable end. Workmen are posted in the doorway on the ground and second-story levels. Barrels and debris lie outside next to the building. Inscriptions on the back of the photograph read "A. C. Wiswall & Son Mill at Newton Lower falls Mass" and "Paper mill / lower dam at Washington St." Augustus Curtis Wiswall (1823-1880) owned the mill with his son, Clarence Augustus Wiswall (1854-1942).
