Worcester 36 --Caption title. Width of road: 50 ft. Traveled way: width 34 ft., grade 0 ft. per 100. Surface: crowned 6 in., rough, soft and muddy, car track in centre material: loam with a little gravel and large stones sides: right, curbstone 8 in. high, left, grass bank slopes up 6 in. to sidewalk gutters: right, 6 in. deep, left, 7 in. deep sidewalks: right, 8 ft. wide, 8 in. above gutter, left, 6 ft. wide, grass border 2 ft. wide. Remarks: Water cart just gone over street, mud 2 in. deep. Poor condition. Photograph accompanies the Report of the Commission to Improve the Highways of the Commonwealth, 1893.
