Handmade quilt with some machine stitching around edges; multicolored cotton calico prints, checks, plaids and stripes on cream colored cotton muslin ground; all cut in triangular shapes and pieced together to form "Lady of the Lake" or "Tugboat " pattern; squares run diagonally, with boat figure crosswise/horizontal (widthwise); triangles point downward, except for 2 (mistakes ?) in upper left corner and 1 partial in upper right; white linen or cotton binding and backing fabric, with small black floral/leaf sprig figure; allover quilting in horizontal and vertical lines, but not crossing each other. Pattern identified as "Lost Ship" and quilt dated ca. 1890 by MassQuilts.
