- Album 17: Views of Boston and Vicinity by Henry Peabody
This album consists of approximately one hundred 8 x 10 inch prints (including some platinum-toned) taken by Henry Peabody circa 1903 to 1904, apparently for the Detroit Publishing Company. An index accompanies this volume which includes several outstanding panoramas of Boston Harbor from various directions, wharves, Boston buildings including important churches, the State House, monuments and memorials, the Public Garden, the Common, a panorama of Copley Square, Public Library, tennis courts and golf course at Franklin Park, buildings at Harvard University, Harvard Class Day, canoeing on the Charles River, Wellesley College buildings, and a panorama of the Wellesley College campus. The quality of the photographs is outstanding throughout the album.
