First line: My those who read, please to attend. Without music. Date based on internal evidence. (Lyndsey’s death on Feb. 9, 1838, is reported in the vital records of New Salem, Mass.). There are two titles, in double columns, on one broadside. The other title: "An Acrostic" (002890-BROAD). Woodcut vignette of a coffin, left of title; elaborate decorative border. "’The Grave hath eloquence; it lectures teach, In silence, louder than divines can preach.’"--beneath title. Text of song, in double columns, in twelve four-line stanzas.
