Letter from Benjamin Smith Lyman to J. Peter Lesley
Description:
Lyman encloses payment for Mr. Lesley's work on a survey map for Mr. Belloni, describes the additional work being done on Belloni's coal tract, and explains new correlations between the compositions of the various coal beds. He is depressed at the time and money wasted by his original estimations of the continuity of the coal beds, complains of the amount of boring being relied upon for the work, and notes that the borers wages have adjusted. Lyman reports mismanagement of the Little Glace Bay mine, and asks that he be remembered to Mr. Langel upon that gentleman's visit to Philadelphia. He requests that Mr. Lesley send him an additional supply of paper.
