Published with the intention of providing a forum through which incarcerated woman can speak and coalition build, outside prison groups can find each other and unite, and others can familiarize themselves with the struggles of women behind bars and learn how to organize around and support them. Articles on "Project Uppercrust," a shakedown at MCI Framingham in Massachusetts, the lack of educational, work release, or furlough programs for women, and a history of the lobotomy. Also including information about individual cases, women on death row and in solitary confinement, and sex worker activism in England.
