A speech by Rae presented at an AALS conference about her responses to scholarly legal articles about mental patients. She discusses the language used in these articles, questions whether authors of these articles had ever truly met mental health patients, and wonders how much it has advanced the practice of mental health law, and whether it is useful to clients. Rae wonders if legal scholars lawyers, and survivors and ex-patients can form joint ventures that influence public policy towards mental health patients.
