Backstrom Survivor Lecture Series held during Northeastern University's annual Holocaust Awareness Week. Van Der Pol, originally from Amsterdam, was a medical student when the war began and was hidden by a Christian woman along with some of his family members. In addition to his personal story, he gives an overview of the Holocaust in Amsterdam, speaks about dealing with his experiences later on in life, and answers audience questions.
