Bag of petit point embroidered wool thread on canvas in tapestry-like, large floral/leaf pattern in pink, orange, yellow, and green (predominant colors) on dark blue ground; roughly flat, rectangular envelope shape, with rounded fold-over flap top; "1757" (upside down) embroidered on flap; green silk braid cord edging and handle; crocheted loop and small brass button closure; brown silk lining. Bag is crudely constructed, with asymmetrically cut flap. Construction doesn't match high quality of needlework - may have been cut from a larger piece (this would explain upside down date).
