Barbara Jean Bemis (Class of 1944) presses her lips together while listening to a speaker in a classroom. After graduation she was active in 4-H and worked for its extension service in Worcester and Hampden counties. During World War II she was a cover girl for several publications encouraging agricultural production. Later she taught home economics at Rutland's Naquag Junior High then at the Holden Big Y as a food demonstrator. She passed away in April 2000 at the age of 77. Photo provided by Joseph Bornstein (Class of 1944), who left the University briefly to fight in the war then returned to graduate in 1947.
