Photograph of two birch tree specimen paintings by Stephen Lane Hamilton, Class of 1931. "S.L. Hamilton, July 20, 1934" written in lower left corner of each painting. Handwritten penciled note on back reads: "Mature bark, young bark, leaves, fruit and one and two year seedlings of the paper (left) and grey birches compared. These are shown with great care as to form and color." "Please return photo to Massachusetts State College, College News Service, Amherst, Massachusetts" stamped on back. Duplicate photo has "1935, painting by Stephen L. Hamilton".
