Early 1900 postcard showing the Phoenix shop row on Main Street, Amherst, Massachusetts. The card has a post office stamp on both front and back; back stamp reads "Amherst, Mass, Sep 8, 4:30 PM". Handwritten on back: "8:30 A.M. Sunday - Dear Ma - Arrived all O.K. Reached house at 9:20 and trunk arrived at house at 10:00. My address is 3 Nutting Ave. c/o Frank Plurde [sic]. Will write. Harold" and addressed to Mary E. Caldwell, 24 Mt. Washington St. Lowell, Mass. "Harold N. Caldwell, 169 King Street, Littleton, Massachusetts Phone: HUnter 6-3308" stamped on back. Mr. Caldwell was a member of the Massachusetts Agricultural College Class of 1916.
