Letter from Joel and Barbara Halpern to his parents during their time in Laos with the United States Operations Mission. This letter is in the form of field notes describing the Hmong ("Meo"), Lao, and Khmu' ("Kha") population statistics by districts ("tasseng") and villages around Luang Prabang. The different districts include: Phakhom, Ban Phanom, Na Luang, Sangkhalok, Pak Lung, Muong Khay, and Xien Men.
