Thanking him for his kind and informative letter (mums312-b114-i089); describing the changing conditions in Dakar and noting her fear of subscribing to "Negro newspapers"; confessing she is thinking of emigrating to Brazil -- "I cannot see any hope here" -- enclosing some materials that may be of interest; and begging he forgive her "bad writing and spelling. Additional transcription describes difficulties "moving about" in French West Africa and complains of a death of "African intellectuals... sincerely interested in helping the masses of their people."
