A tin milk can (a) (for carrying milk, not for milking), with fitted lid (b). (Flange of lid fits inside can.) Gray/white marbled enamel (interior and exterior). Can has two riveted ears with loops to attach a wire handle with turned wood grip. Lid has turned wood handle. Both handles are black. Enamel shows some chipping with minor rust. Bottom of pail is crimped or rolled to attach to sides. Pail is 7 5/8" high. Base is 6 3/8" diameter. Top is 4 1/4" diameter. Lid is 4 3/8" at widest point. Typewritten note reads, "F.C. Alexander Milk [sic] when 6-10 years old used to get the milk in summer from the milk man in this pail at Woodsburg (now Woodmere) Long Island, N.Y." Old label reads, "poss. deacc.?" and "TOUCH COLLECTION" and "(F. C. Alexander--see note inside*)"
