Black, natural. Slat-back (4 slats) black armchair. Uprights have sausage & ring turnings, except for vase-shaped turnings between seat & arms. Stretchers: front are turned, others plain. Legs worn down, wear on lower front stretcher. Rush seat not original. Made for Joseph Jackson, dated 1717. Located in storage room behind the table. According to oral tradition this chair was especially made or modified for Jackson so that he could continue to work on his farm while physically debilitated.
