Letter from W. E. B. Du Bois to Napoleon B. Marshall
Description:
Denying the kind of "acquaintance with the Socialists" which would allow him to make the introduction Marshall desires (see mums312-b055-i028): "I vote the Socialist ticket but I am not a member of the Socialist party, and I think they rather hold it against me"; and discouraging him wholeheartedly from mounting any sort of political campaign: "it would be fatal."
