Film footage of a procession of elephants being ridden by Khmu' guards. This may be part of the procession for the New Year celebrations in April, or it may also be connected to the celebrations for the 2500th anniversary of Buddhism. Both celebrations used the elephants and featured crowds of people along the main street of Luang Prabang. Additional photographs of these events can be found within the Joel M. Halpern Laotian Slide Collection at the University of Wisconsin.
