Keynote address at the UMass Wind Energy Center's 40th anniversary celebration, June 5, 2014, discussing future and potential of renewable energy in the face of greenhouse gasses, environmental toxins, and climate change. Koster (UMass '82) led the UMass Office to Coordinate Energy Research and Education in the 1970s and founded the Toward Tomorrow Fair. He was recruited during the Carter Administration to work with the Tennessee Valley Authority and in the 1990s, he became a pioneer in the use of electronic environments to improve healthcare, including electronic medical records, medical information over the internet, and telemedicine. In 2008 he retired as Vice President for Innovation for Nemours Children's Clinics. Koster is the author of Discovering The New America: Where Local Communities Are Solving National Problems.
