Gothic Revival-style side chair has crest rail with carved scrolls and other motifs surrounding a central cherub face; pierced splat composed of four ribs forming two tiers of Gothic arches; round stiles with turned ovoid finials; upholstered seat; narrow straight seat rails, tapered round legs with spiral twist turnings; two stretchers on each side and rear; and single front stretcher with five short turned ribs between seat and stretcher. Very faintly visible on lower left corner is an A. H. Davenport Co. company stamp that indicated that Francis Henry Bacon is the designer of the piece.
