A photograph of a men's ice hockey team at Springfield College. Although their jerseys read “1903,” a note on the container says that this is the middler’s ice hockey team. “Middler” was the term used for the middle graduating class when Springfield College was a three-year program. Based on this information, we believe this photograph was taken during the 1901-1902 academic year. The members of the team include Frederick F. Bugbee, Gilbert F. Thompson, Porter T. Woolworth, Percy L. Reynolds, Von Victor Roseboro, and Elmer G. Ackerman. Currently, the college acknowledges the sport as a club sport. In the background is Judd Gymnasia.
