From a series of images of the Cambodian community Lowell, Mass. "Altar with symbolic multi-tiered umbrella. Three pairs of Baisi, religious symbols of three refugees, Buddha, Dhamma, and Sangha (community of monks). Lighting incense; statue made by monks residing at temple; statue made of concrete over wire mesh; assembly of monks ; golden umbrella -- preparing rice to make a special dessert; broken grains are separated and removed and only whole grains are used; younger girls are taught to do this; making dessert with rice flour."
